Chapter 4 - Repetition
-
After completing the quiz on conversions and InDesign workspace do the following:
- Read chapter 4 on Repetition (pages 49 to 62) and take detailed notes
-
In your notes, be sure to include the following points
- A detailed definition of Repetition (Consider including examples)
- Evidence that you looked at and analyzed the various examples
- In particular, look at the repetition examples on pages 52 and 53. (See how many techniques you can find without reading the hints located around the page content.
- On page 53, there is a challenge that asks you point out some of the consistent, repetitive elements of the textbook. In point form, list the observations you make.
- In addition, you are to find a favourite website on the Internet and discuss how the designers used repetition to make the pages within a site more consistent. Without this consistency of design, how else would viewers know that they are viewing different pages within the site and have not navigated to a different site entirely. (Screen shots using GRAB would be helpful here). Consider that the repetition itself will likely involve instances of alignment, contrast, and proximity.
